Winthrop Harbor Beautification Project 2019

Winthrop Harbor Beautification Project 2019

June 1, 2019 — 9AM
Meet at EMA Building 1520 7th Street, Winthrop Harbor

Volunteers Needed!

Illinois Dunesland Garden Club will undertake a large planting project to beautify Sheridan Road and Seventh Street in Winthrop Harbor.

In cooperation with the Village, we will be planting 36 large planters, 10 hanging baskets and a few other pots as well as 3 beds.

Volunteers will be assigned in groups of 2 or 3.  Planting should take less than half a day.

Coffee and bagels will be provided in the morning and a chicken dinner will follow when the planting is complete.

All the volunteers need do is come with a trowel (and maybe a hat and gloves).  Everything else will be provided–even rain gear if it’s a drizzly day!  We will have diagrams for the large pots so you will know where to place the plants.

Come and help out!  It will be a fun morning and a chance to visit while you work.  This could be your chance to get to know your fellow club members.

And as a bonus, you will see your handiwork every-time you drive through the Village or go to the Lake.

What a beautiful thing to do for the community!

For more information, contact Sandi Shea, Chairperson
